The Wolfman
This movie is a remake of the original Wolfman released in 1941. The remake is definitely a must see. Anthony Hopkins is just as brilliant as he was in "The Silence of the Lambs". At one point I almost expected him to ask Bercnicio "Do you still hear the screaming of the lambs?" An amazing movie through and through, Here is one of my favorite scenes and then the trailer.
Shape-Shifting
One of my very first posts on this blog was about werewolves, the word werewolf comes from the Greek word Lycanthrope. The first word "were" translates into a old English term meaning man, and "wolf" has the same modern English meaning; It also can be taken as a general term "beast."
Werewolves in a way, brought me to the supernatural and the unknown. When I was younger I was fascinated by these folkloric beasts. The very idea of werewolves is awesome, to be able to transform into something much stronger and faster then you but with the same intellect. So it brings me to the question. Does Shape-shifting exist? I believe it does but not in the same way a lot of people think. I believe you can mentally become the animal in question, but not physically. Then again our brains can do amazing things. Until tomorrow stay scared.
Werewolf Closing
Werewolves
There are many who say the moon holds some kind of power over us, hence the word lunacy. Which means, periodic insanity thought to be caused by the phases of the moon. Which leads us to our topic, the werewolf. What are these creatures and why do they fascinate us.
The werewolf, can also be called Lycanthrope from the greek word lukos. There a human who can transform into a wolf or wolf-like creature. Said to be changed by a full moon and die by a silver bullet.
The werewolf has been in many folklore stories, and even in modern day horror films. In the middle ages the church stigmatized the wolf as the personification of evil or a servant of Satan himself.
I believe there is no answer, and that is what makes the stories and movies so great. We will always wonder.
